Hi To all

I Want to rotate A Mesh around one blade to have mesh around whole of propeller.

after Mesh convert to unstructured I rotate the in Edit Mesh Menu

A Mesh successful rotated. But my problem here When i Export Mesh to CFX just mesh of around one Blade Comes not Whole Mesh?

What can i do to have whole mesh ( mesh from rotating ) ?

My guess...

You saved your project before rotating...

Then you did the copy rotate, but did not save after...

Then you exported to CFX.

The exporters are all actually separate mesh conversion utilities. They read in a saved file and export in another format. (as opposed to converting the mesh already in memory)

If you didn't save your rotated mesh, it would have converted the last one you saved.

Save your rotated mesh and try again.

thanks Simon

No Unfortunately it is not correct ,
When I Open My Project (ICEM CFD) The Mesh is Complete and Successful Rotated.
But When I Click On Pre-Mesh And Click to Convert To unstructured Mesh , The ICEM Ask Me Merge Or Replaced and When i Click Replaced Just the Mesh Of one Blade exist And Rotated Mesh Was Removed.

When you Told Me That First Saved The Project Then Export The Mesh..
I Try To (SAVE AS) And then Exported to CFX But It is not Successful And Just One Blade Mesh Alone Exported.

Know What is Your Guest???

Oh, I think I may know what you have done...

Do you have the premesh in the original position, and then you converted to unstructured... Then you rotated the unstructured mesh...

At that point, you were looking at a mixture of structured premesh and unstructured mesh.

The output only sends the mesh...

To succeed... You will need to rotate with the option to make a copy...

Turn off the display of your premesh. What remains will be unstructured mesh. Save and output that.

Best regards,

Simon

thanks a lot simon for your answer

Yes .
I Make Structure mesh For One Blade then Converted To Unstructured Mesh
And with use Rotating Mesh (In Edit Mesh) I Can Rotated mesh

Whats meaning of : (To succeed... You will need to rotate with the option to make a copy... )
??????

Now I dont know What u told to me..

exactly Where i Can Convert Whole Mesh To Unstructured Mesh ?

Thanks

Hi

I have a same problem with rotating...

I dont know For Rotating Mesh : Must rotate the block or Rotate The Geometry Or Rotate Unstructured Mesh ????

I was examined each 3 Mode that I Writed in up. but i can not export rotated
mesh.

When I just Rotated Unstructured mesh it is necessary that make a Body for Rotated Unstructured Mesh ?

I Attach a very Simple Geometry For Rotate
Please rotated it And Put Exported Mesh ?

I will try again to explain...

you just converted a sector of premesh to unstructured mesh and then rotated it... On the screen you could see both the premesh and rotated unstructured mesh, but export only sees the unstructured mesh.

The solution is just to add the option to "copy" when you rotate... You can then turn off the display of the premesh and see multiple sectors of unstructured mesh that will export.

If the nodes are coincident (as with a periodic model), you could also merge nodes with a tolerance (small tolerances, 1/10th the mesh size) and delete the shell elements on the periodic wall between the volumes (to open it up as one larger volume).

Hi ahmadreza,

I don not know if you had solved your problem in these 3 years. If not, I suggest you turn on the "volumes" branch under the "mesh" node of the tree view on the left of ICEM-CFD panel just before transforming any unstructured mesh.

ICEM-CFD will not display the volume mesh by default. So be careful when you use the selection functionality of "select all visible" (hot key "v") provided by the software.

Best regards,

Yaoyu Hu

hi 2 all
I'm new user of ansys that want to use ansys cfx for a ducted propeller.
i can't mesh my model as good as that my solver give me best results.
how can i mesh my model with boundary layers that have fine meshes near propeller and duct and meshes grow slowly linearly with distance from the duct?
I work with ansys workbench and fluid flow(CFX).
thanks
