I want to mesh airfoil domain with variable no. suction holes in ICEM CFD, i.e. each time different holes will exist among the circles in the geometry(image attached). Is there any easier way of doing it instead of creating a block for each circle separately.

You can use hybrid mesh method to creat two domains.
FIRST ONE: outer domain which will contain the domain around around foil and it will be unstructured domain. SECOND ONE: Inner domain around airfoil which will use blocking method th capture the geometry of the airfoil. or you can make all the domain unstructured and use prism layer to capture the layer around the airfoil which the boundary layer is effective. There is a hybrid mesh tutorial you can find it here http://www.4shared.com/rar/l3vcINz_/...dairfoil.html? I didn't make this tutorial and all the credit goes to the person who made it, i just can't remember where did i get it. regards |
