Hi everyone, Im trying to do an FEA analysis on a turbomachine consisting of intersecting sheets. It is all one sheet body, and I assign the sheets a thickness of 3mm.
After applying the loads and solving the simulation, the blades seem to deform independently as opposed to deforming like a single body. See below. As you can see from this picture, for some reason the mesh is not detecting that the sheets are connected. Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks for your help. |

Can you share the geometry?
It's clear from the mesh picture that you dont have any node connection in the intersection, but I'm not sure how to fix it. What happens if you import it into design modeler? I know if we try to create such intersections there, we will get an error, so maybe Design modeler fixes it upon import? |
