Dear Buddies
I have created a wedge-typed mesh in gambit. Now I want to export it into fluent . Whenever I try to export it; this error comes:

Code:
No entities were found for mesh export.
Errors were found during export. Export file was not created.
I have attached a pic of my grid.
Would somebody PLZ help me what is the problem?

Regards

Do you have volume elements? (When I see the color of your mesh I would say yes)
Did you receive any error while meshing?
Do you have any BC? (export should work also if you didn't set any BC)

Hi Maxime

1- I swept my faces with their mesh along a specified edge and then deleted the edge.

2- No error appeared during mesh generation.

3- Yes. Maybe its because of my BC. I set periodic boundary for upper and lower surfaces of the wedge. These faces in OpenFoam adopt front and back wedges that are empty (Cause as you might know this wedge is a cut from a cylinder). However I don't know what type in Gambit should I define.

OF apart, try to delete the periodic BC, and export the mesh.
Periodic BC needs linked mesh

Hi Maxime

Thanks for your hint. However, Would you PLZ hint me instead of periodic BC, what kind should I assign for upper and lower surfaces which in OF they are empty wedges. Because For instance if I assign them wall, it affects the solution or If I consider them outlet; I think it's unreal cause its a cut from a real cylinder and these surfaces are not outlet. So I am a bit confused what type of BC should I assign for them?

as I said, previously to solve the BC issue in OF, try to solve the problem from mesh export.
Did you now succeed to export the mesh properly (without periodic BC)?

Hi Maxime

It was as you said, I deleted the Periodic BCs and now successfully exported the mesh. However, Now the upper and lower surfaces have no BC. Do you have any hint for me in this step? I mean let them to be as they are (no BC) or anything else?

Regards
Bobi

ok it means the problem comes from periodicity.
And as I said, periodicity in Gambit has one rule: both surfaces have to be mesh linked.
So delete your volume mesh, link both surface meshes, adn remesh volume

Then apply BC and export mesh
