ATTN: Far, Simon, Stuart, Ali : Quad mesh in ICEM
Hi,
Does ICEM allow us to do a 3d quad mesh? I do not want a tet mesh for my 3d geometry. I am modelling an urban area and the blocking method would be too time consuming if not difficult. Can anybody help? Thanks |
you can generate the tet mesh and transorm it to quad ! or when using the delaunay, check the box next to "create a hexa-core mesh"

You can generate a 3d hexa mesh by extruding an all quad 2d surface mesh. This method works for 2.5d geometries and I have successfully applied it for a genereric city enviroment. It is described in this thread: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...787-prism.html
Note: under 5) it should be "all appropriate objects" not "all appropriate visible objects". Further I attached some screens of the mesh for one block of houses from the generic city enviroment. |
