ATTN: Far, Simon, Stuart, Ali : Quad mesh in ICEM

Hi,
Does ICEM allow us to do a 3d quad mesh? I do not want a tet mesh for my 3d geometry. I am modelling an urban area and the blocking method would be too time consuming if not difficult. Can anybody help?

Thanks

you can generate the tet mesh and transorm it to quad ! or when using the delaunay, check the box next to "create a hexa-core mesh"

You can generate a 3d hexa mesh by extruding an all quad 2d surface mesh. This method works for 2.5d geometries and I have successfully applied it for a genereric city enviroment. It is described in this thread: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...787-prism.html

Note: under 5) it should be "all appropriate objects" not "all appropriate visible objects". Further I attached some screens of the mesh for one block of houses from the generic city enviroment.
