Help defining Flow Path with external CAD

I'm not sure if what I am trying to do 'works' with TurboGrid.

I have a CAD model (SolidWorks - part, not an assembly) of a simplified helicopter rotor head embedded in a wind tunnel section (http://imgur.com/a/0uMPs)

I am trying to use TurboGrid to generate a mesh for the rotor blades so ANSYS can analyse the rotors as they enter vortex ring state (an aerodynamic effect in helicopters).

However, I am having difficulties defining the Flow Path within the geometry section of ANSYS where I have imported the CAD model. When I try to define an Inlet/Hub/Shroud Contour I cannot select a surface.

From research it appears these contours are defined by sketch edges (http://www.sharcnet.ca/Software/Flue...rcreation.html), so it would appear my problem is arising as detail from the CAD model is lost during the import to ANSYS.

Could anyone suggest a way to either:

Import a CAD model to ANSYS whilst keeping all (or a lot of) its detail.

Select contours from an imported CAD model (I have tried using the "Lines from Edges" concept tool etc).

Or have I adopted the wrong approach altogether for what I am trying to achieve?
