Hi, I am modelling a propeller blade in ICEM. I want to know that is it necessary to define fluid and solid zones in ICEM itself or I can do it in fluent? Can anyone suggest what is the importance of defining zones?

Thanks
Gaurav

diamondx will become famous soon enough
You can't do it in Fluent it has to be done in ICEM then recognized in FLUENT

You have to define the different zones in ICEM CFD. They may be fluid1 and fluid2, zonea and zoneb, solid1 and solid2 and continues... after importing mesh into the fluent you can change them to Fluid and Solid.

The idea is that you should have two different zones to work with in fluent...

Thanks for the reply. Actually I am getting very low value of thrust. I want to know that is this problem is caused by not defining the zones properly. In cell zone condition window in fluent ,I don't have a solid zone, But in boundary condition window I have defined PROPELLER BLADE as wall.
