Bad Mesh Quality in Hexa

Hello everyone,

i have a problem meshing some easy geometry. In the attachment Geometry.png it is pictured. In picture BadElements.png you can see my problem.

As the bad elements are only on one side of the big cylinder, it should possible to get rid of them or to dont let them form in the first place.

I think this problem arises in the blocking process. The steps are:
1. create a single block around the geometry
2. O-grid for the the whole block
3. split the block into 2 parts for the cylinder and the pipe
4. project the outer edges to the big cylinder
5. project the inner edges to the pipe
6. align the edges of the inner block in the cylinder with that of the pipe
7. delete the o-grid blocks around the pipe
8. O-Grid for the inner block of the cylinder and the pipe

The attached Text file is a renamed ICEM Replay file, as they cannot be uploaded here in the forum. If one want have a look at the problem, just change the extension from txt to rpl and load it in ICEM via File -> Replay Scripts -> Run from Script File. I put in some comments at the single steps. The first part is the geometry and the second part is the blocking. To see the bad elements, select the tab Blocking -> Pre-Mesh Quality Histograms.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Your mesh sizes are near the triangulation tolerance defined under settings->model. Decrease this tolerance by let's say three orders of magnitude. Then run the replay script and you'll be fine ;).

Well, i feel relieved and shocked at once by the simplicity of the solution. For remeshing purposes i will include a line for this, to make sure it doesn't change.
