Hi Dear All,

I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to guess/predict the upper limit for a mesh that can be generated on a given PC?

To explain it further,

1. System 'A' is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 GHz 3.40 GHz with 16.0 GB of RAM.

2. System 'B' is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5520 @ 2.27 GHz 2.27 GHZ (2 processors) with 24.0 GB of RAM.

What is the max mesh size that can be grown on both these systems???
Or is it that there is no such limitation posed by hardware except that the mesh generation time will increase on a low specs system and thats all!

Thanking in advance!

I mean the mesh will get generated, no matter how big or small, but time will vary!

Correct me if im wrong plzzz...

On 4 GB system with windows 7 64 bit, I am able to generate 10 Million + nodes. So I guess for 16 GB RAM you have generate 40 million + nodes easily. For such sizes you may expect couple of hours to get the mesh.

Thanks Far, for sharing your experience !

Yes you are right, it does take a couple of hours to generate a mesh this big. So ill see how much bigger mesh can i generate with my available resources
