[ICEM] High Skewness Problem

Default High Skewness Problem

Hi ! I am doing a simulation of a free convection of aligned battery cell. I have some trouble when I am generating the mesh. When I check the mesh quality (T Grid Skewness), It appeared some of the mesh are still on the unacceptable range (the orange part in the picture below). Did anyone ever encounter this problem ? I really need help for this one to complete my undergraduate thesis. Thank You !

Hello Oliver,

You used O-Grids for each cylinder, correct? Also, I do not understand the 5th image you posted (the one where the mesh is green). Why is the mesh more fine in the top left corner, what view is that and why is it different?

Hi aero_head ! Thank you for responding !
Yes, I used o-grid for each of the cylinder

and about the 5th picture, I also didn't understand why it became like that (it shows that in the display for a few seconds when I start the ICEM, then it comes back to the normal display. even though I already set the mesh parameters in each o-grid, it still displayed the same problem

Have you made sure your lines and vertices are all associated where you intended them to be? Did you link all edges properly (i.e. edges of O-Grid to the corresponding section or the circle)?

I have seen element quality improve with O-Grids by putting another O-Grid inside. Might be worth a try, it's not too difficult to implement and test (make sure to save as a separate file, just in case).

Thank you aero_head ! I have resolved my problem and your suggestion is right, i tried making ogrid inside the cylinder and it appears to have a good tgrid skewness.
