Meshing a 2D geometry in ANSYS-mesh 14.5

I am a new user in the platform Workbench 14.5.
I am try to setup a 2D flow problem in CFX-ANSYS Worbench. I read the suggestions posted in the old version of Workbench (10) to create a 3D geometry in DesignModeler and to do a 3D mesh with only one element in the symmetry direction (not relevant direction). My problem is that after doing a mapped mesh, using sizing with bias edge (smooth), I always obtain multiple layer through the thickness. This gives me a lot of extra elements that I do not need for a 2D simulation. Where can I find the option to do a 2D extruded mesh in the new version 14.5? I haven't been able to find that option anywhere in this new version.

Thanks

I don't know how it was in 10th but in 14.5 you can create 2D mesh on a surface, so I think you do not need to create extruded surface. If you want to do as it was proposed on a manual to 10th you should add a sizing on lines which are in "depth dimension" with Number of Divisions = 1 and Hard Behavior. But you have to remember that elements which are to big in one dimension compared to others will have bad quality for CFD simulation and your results could be inaccurate.

2D mesh

Insert a method to your mesh. Choose sweep method. Choose manual source and automatic target. source is the face you looking at (the upper one of the 2 large faces). Now set the number of divisions to 1. In this case all elements of the upper face will be swept to the lower face using one element. I am talking about CFX 14.5.

Thank you all for the great advice. I solved the problem by extruding a thickness equal to the samallest element in my mesh.
