Can anyone please help me on how to block a 120 degree part of a 2D vawt? I will be doing a thesis work on the performance of cambered airfoil but I am still on the stage of learning ICEM CFD to genereat my mesh.. Thanks

1. Create main block.
2. Associate edge and vertices. 3. Make four splits at leading edge, trailing edge, pressure side and suction. 4. Make O-grid around airfoil. 5. Set edge mesh parameters 6. Create UN-structured mesh. 7. Select solver and set boundary conditions 8. Output mesh. |

thanks Far, but if you wont mind, i would like to request if you can make a step by step video tutorial on which edge and vertices should be associated to which curves and points. and the locations of the splits. Sorry but i am still lost with ICEM CFD. Thank you so much in advance.

Far, good day! I have successfully built my unstructured mesh for 1/3 portion of wind turbine.. My question now is how to make the whole three bladed rotor.. Do i have to copy rotate the geometry, blocks and mesh? or only the mesh?
I have tried copy-rotating the mesh but line elements would only appear for the original 1/3 part of my turbine. I am aware that i need to merge the nodes in order to generate the line elements for the whole rotor, but i think i am doing it wrong. I want to ask which nodes do i have to select to merge? thanks Far for your constant help.. |

Hi Michael!
Have you found the solution how to copy and rotating properly the mesh from the 1/3 part? I don't know it neither and it would be a great help if you could tell me, and I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance! Regards, Bence |
