Hi,

I want to generate a structured grid for a perforated plate.
As you can see in the attached image, the holes of the plate have an organised pattern.
I'm looking for a fast method to build o-grid blocks for generating structured grid both inside and (if possible) outside the holes.
What is your opinion(s)?

I appreciate your helps,
Ebrahim

Hello Ebrahim,

Well I would create a blocking around a single hole of your plate (with 2 O-grids, one for the hole and one around for the BL), and then copy the blocking with the ICEM "transform block" tool.

Hello Gweher,

Thank you for your reply.
This is a good suggestion, however, the problem with this method is that associating the edges of the copied blocks to their relevant curves is time consuming!
A practical solution to the new problem perhaps is to copy the hole which is inside the first block and remove the previous holes! However, It's better for my case to keep the original holes!

I appreciate your help.

Thank you for the interesting video. It is very useful.
I'm wondering if I need to copy the geometry while I copy the mesh or...?
