Gambit Meshing Tolerance Issues

1 Attachment(s)
Hi!

I'm trying to mesh something at a wall where the cell size needs to be ~10^-9 meters

I have scaled up my model in Gambit by a factor of 10^9 (scaling up any higher results in gambit crashing due to insufficient memory etc.)

The geometry is just a 2D sketch of 2 concentric arcs with their end points connected.

I have attached the generated mesh... I think that the funny kinks that can be seen are because of some sort of tolerance issue (in the middle, you can tell that a few nodes have the same y coordinate but different x coordinates).

How can I increase the number of significant digits that Gambit can handle? Again - Scaling up higher is not an option, I have scaled it up as far as I can.

You will have my undying gratitude if you help me fix this :)

Thanks,
Ptolemy

PS: Can gridgen/pointwise deal with these low tolerances?

Gambit works without unit.
you will scale your model in the solver
Can you describe with a sketch what you want to build and mesh (Are you talking about boundary layers?)
