Mesh inside a circle (2D)

Hello, well as i beginner in Fluent I am having a problem when I am doing the Mesh for a simple Circle geometry. In fact I want to study the heat transfer effect for the soda can but in 2D; So I need to do a Mesh of the inside of the circle. I created a circle and 2 vertical line (from the center to the edge) and I did a simple Mesh(with the appropriate bias type and number of divisions) for the edge of the circle and the 2 lines; But the Mesh is not symmetric and not good ? Anyone has an idea ? Thanks.

Hi Ghadi,

I supposse you are trying to get a hexa mesh on it. If you want to achieve it I think you should split your surface as o-grid topology and then use a hexa dominant multizone mesh method to get it along with some edge sizing and bias factor to control your boundary elements.

Take a look to this thread:

Hello Javi,
First Thanks
Second, I am a beginner user in fluent and I read the 3d mesh pipe; In fact I didn't understand a lot and I think my case which is 2D circle is more simple than the others.
I need the step step process (geometry and mesh) to follow or a tutorial for my Case. (Mesh inside of a Circle 2D)

Really thanks a lot

Hi Ghady,

I think you should take a look to the different tutorials and workshop files in order to get a better understanding of it. Then, ask about specific things you don't understand.
