hole in mesh after octree
 

I am having difficulties with this issue of a hole in my geometry after using the octree volume mesh generator. Please see the attached image. It pops up a message asking if i wanted to fix the hole. So..what do I do with this?

build a diagnostic topology to to locate the hole. You need closed domain to run octree. When you see yello curves, it usually means you don't have surfaces there... close the hole with a surface.

thanks for the reply. my geometry is closed. i built topology before meshing and i see all red lines. Happened to you before?

Yeah, One other reason, you may have two bodies. make sure you only have one. If you have two, they must be separated by surfaces...

It might be that your mesh size is smaller than your tolerance. As a matter of fact, it might not be necessary to run a build topology and obtain red curves when running octree. If your geometry is of low quality, a build topology can make matters worse.

What is your minimum mesh size at that particular area and what was the tolerance you used for build topology?
