Airfoil coordinate importing in DesignModeler

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I am trying to draw wing in ANSYS Design Modeler. I have imported the airfoil coordinate file in DM through 3-D curve. But the geometry is not changing to blue color after generating the curve and also I cannot modify the geometry. Where am I doing wrong? Can someone, please, help me on this?

TIA :)

Did you use Concept > Surfaces from Edges?

Thanks a lot Rahul. It is working now.

But what is the problem with concept>3D curve option? Can you kindly explain it? I am mainly following a tutorial and it is done by that method but in my case, it didn't work.

Osman

Osman,

3D curve as the name suggests, creates a 3D curve (a line body). You need to create a surface (surface body) from the 3D curve, if you trying to perform 2D simulations. You would have to extrude the surface (solid body), if you are trying to do 3D simulations. Complex 3D wing profiles can be modeled using the sweep/blend options.

Best,
Rahul
