Blocking two different fluid zones

Hi all,

I am having two different fluid zones in my geometry.
How can I block the model separately ?
Also I need to create O-grid and internal walls between fluid zones.

with regards,
Dhayananth

Blocking two different fluid zones - help needed

Hi,

I am having geometry with two different fluid zones.

I find very difficult to block this geometry because one fluid zone is present inside the other zone.

Can any one please give some suggestions /methods to overcome my problem.

with regards,
dhaya

Hello dear;

Can you post the tin file? geometry?

since you are struggling so much I will give it a quick try:)

Hi all,

I tried myself to block and mesh the geometry.

But near the connection, I am not getting proper mesh.

Please find attached picture of mesh.

Can any one please give some suggestions /methods to overcome my problem.

Hey man I was busy and caught up with some stuff. Sorry about the late reply. Good news is I gave this a 2 tries tonight ;) Two tries because the geometry I have to say is a bit complicated. You had surfaces inside the fluid zone which I did not understand why it exists. Anyways here first have a look at the mesh;
Attachment 39546

and two pictures of blocking;
Attachment 39548

and the scane plane;
Attachment 39549

and download the blocking and project file from the link below from my dropbox.
Or and also the mesh quality atm is 0.15 and above. so try to improve it and yes it can definitely be improved. I thought to leave it for you as you will enjoy it :D

Hi,

Thank you for your reply and concern.

The file which you shared does not contain two fluid zones. The difficulty in meshing arises when two fluid zones are present. At the junction of the connection you can find fluid zone1 and another one surrounds the fluid zone 1.

So can give some suggestions/ methods to mesh the geometry having two fluid zones.

Dhayananth K

Hey I did not use two zones; haha but of course you can put the blocks where you want a different fluid in a different part ( select blocks).

Dhaya; Can you let me know where you want the two fluid zones? it's best if you can show me through a picture then I will explain to you what to do.

What I did is put all the blocks in a single fluid part called "blocked"; I can put these blocks into different parts given that i wanted to do so;

so yeah be more specific and i will try help you

Dhaya you were right; when you try to put another block inside it gets all complicated; but when i disassosciated some faces and arranged the edges again ( after making a new part for the block which represents fluid2) the mesh seemed to be better. However , I am still unable to resolve this. hope some one else helps you mate I am too busy atm and do not seem to have the energy to think about this.

good luck anyway mate
