Hi,

How can I create a edge on the following face in Gambit?

This face is a radial face and I want to split this face because of meshing the face.

Thanks,

Best,

Amir

hi dear friend
you can by giving coordinates in arbitrary points or or with click on it, spilt radial face and then converted to face.
hope it helps

Hi,

I exactly do not understand what you mean. I do not have coordinate of face because I supposedly drew this face.
What software tools can do this work that you said?
Could you please explain further?

Thanks,

Best,

Amir

dear friend, if you have not complete information of geometry coordinates,How would you drawed face? my mean using gambit software and go to split edge as shown follow,i dont exactly What is your problem but if you dont know coordinates split for geometry and AS you said supposed face , you can using click on arbitrary point FOR split geometry and finally make FACE.
If you need additional guidance, please express.
hope it helps
best regards

Thanks hamidciv,

I modeled a turbine as shown in following link:

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...al-domain.html

Now, I want to mesh around the turbine blade But I can't create any edge or face on the radial faces(hub and casing and Tip-claerance regions). For this reason, firstly, I must create a few edge on the radial faces around the blade until I can create faces and volumes around the turbine blade.

Thanks

Best

Amir

dear amir, based on high figure that you attached, you need split radial face in two point i shown in follow, now you go to in geometry-edge-split edge and using click on one of two points in arbitrary area then split your radial face and finally for because two points have same coordinates, first coordinates that you obtained with click on radial face applied for second point with witing in (x=...., y=....,z=....).
hope it helps
