Hi to all,

I am doing a steam turbine stage (stator-rotor) meshing.

My approach is to generate octree mesh then delauny next insert prism elements.

While inserting prism elements into delauny tetra mesh,I found in very few areas prism elements failed to insert and tetra exits in that area. This leads to mesh quality issues.

I tried mesh curve parametrs, recreating the surface, and refining the mesh in that area. But the problem still exists.

anybody help me on this issue.

Thanks in advance

Your approach is really good. I am not an expert here. But do give a try on creating a surface mesh only. ( Or octree mesh and delete volume mesh so surface mesh is stand-only). Smooth the surface mesh with laplace for the first time. Smooth the surface mesh with general smoothing upto 0.3 and above for the second and rest of the times until you get it there. Create prism 3 layers on top of this surface mesh. Split them as you want. Re-order and Re-distribute with the ratio in your mind. Since you are already experienced I don't need to go into details of how many layers and the ratio . And develop delaunay on top of the prisms after which you will smooth everything as well.

regards

Also play with the prism height limit factor- 1 or 0.9 seems to be good I guess. Don't you think so?
