gauthamnarayan is on a distinguished road
I have a problem in ICEM cfd that I have been trying for almost 3 weeks now, without any success. It would be very helpful if someone can point out where I could be going wrong. i am attaching my a screenshot of the incorrect 2D mesh but it is hard to find out the mistake from it.
the mesh looks fine to me but when doing a mesh check it says, that there are overlapping elements, on viewing the subset it shows the overlapping elements highlighted, but on deleting them there is no other elements there. i understand that the icem thinks that there are two boundaries there, when actually there is only one. how do i correct this.

i am attaching my geometry and blocking file if someone could help me out with where i am going wrong.

thanks a lot

bluebase will become famous soon enough
Hi Goutham,

first.. please consider posting in the right subforum next time, you might get help easier. There is a subforum dedicated to meshing with Ansys products.

Anyway...

Open your project and make blocks visible. Then check for distorted or collapsed blocks. Probably, you will spot the problem easily. Have a look at the following screenshot:
snapshot1.jpg

Can you find your problem? No? There is a collapsed row of blocks (# 39). Remove this row of blocks and this problem should be solved.

I think there is also a mesh check which creates a subset with problematic elements. With this subset it might be easier to spot regions with faulty blocking.

With regards,
Sebastian
