Hi, I've designed a 3D solar Chimney for my project at uni. I have some questions. I've attached the geometry made in SOLIDWORKS
1. How do I extract the fluid domain?( I tried with fill and ICEM cfd but cannot create surface between ground and collector for INLET
2. Is it better to model the ambient wind like an external flow going to the inlet or to find a way to make the area between the collector and the ground as a whole inlet and put a boundary inlet somewhere with a wind speed going to the inlet?
3.How can I mesh this by meshing each part individually?

Thank you in advance

How did you manage to get on with this modelling. I am doing a similar thing at the moment.
