snejball91 is on a distinguished road
Hello community,

I am new to this forum and also new to the whole cfd topic but I want to learn a little bit about that. Here are some general informations about my task:
  • I will use ICEM for meshing and CFX for solving
  • has to be a hexa mesh
  • the object is a very simple geometry: a pipe and a longish body inside that (nozzle)

Even though I read a lot of articles and tutorials about meshing, I still got some questions:
  • Are there general guidelines for the quality of the mesh?
I saw this homepage (http://bit.ly/1M8cyhu) but are these values a standard for all meshing tasks? And the homepage mentions just a few quality values, but not all of them.
  • How do you improve your mesh if you see that for example the angle value is too high / too low or that the volume value is too low?
My problem is that i get "bad" values at the quality check but i don't know how to fix them.

Thanks a lot guys.
