Meshing problem

Hello all, I am facing a problem in ICEM. I have a concentric cylinder geometry .1m inner dia from which air is flowing and outer 1m in which solid is there i have named part as inlet, outlet, outer body, and defined inner circle as pipe because it has some conductivity and i am working on heat transfer when created a structured o grid and imported in fluent the pipe part is now coming but when i am creating a unstructured mesh pipe part is coming in fluent, I have to use structure mesh only and i tried different way of creating it but for structured it is now showing. Anyone will tell me what can i do or this is the bug in icem?

This is not a bug. From what I understand you are trying to import a structured mesh to fluent. Fluent supports unstructured meshes from ICEM.

How to solve:
Export your structured mesh to CFX format if you have that software. Because CFX can handle structured meshes( I suggest CFX because you have access to ANSYS package I am guessing).

Constraints:
You cannot use fluent for structured meshes.
Fluent = Unstructured
CFX = Both structured and unstructured

I hope this makes things clear.

Hi,
I am converting structure mesh into unstructured mesh in icem in the tree and exporting it to fluent but still i didnt get any change it wont take and wont create interface.

Like Shereez suggested, use your original mesh in CFX. You should not have much problem operating CFX if you are familiar with Fluent.

Both are unstructured solvers. CFX even does not use the hexa mesh at all when solving. Every element in CFX has polygonal shape...

Okay I am not so sure about CFX I use fluent and it supports unstructured only thanks Far

It used to support structured mesh up to, I guess, Version 4.

Note: Version number change in ANSYS is much faster than windows ;)

So any solution for me why it is not showing part when i do structure and convert it??

That is true :p. I have been just using 121 and 145

I am guessing if you have a hexa unstructured mesh fluent should support it. Can you show some pictures of the error messages
