Dear all,

I'm blocking and meshing a domain depicted in the figure below. It is a one-quarter view of a semi-elliptical notch tip in a pipeline section. In Workbench geometry I have separated the whole geometry into several blocks. Therefore, I am going to mesh the notch tip using ICEM through multizone method and the rest using Workbench mesh. However, I have been stucked on it for one week. I have two questions regarding this issue.

1) how to block such a geometry; and
2) I have created a mesh using ICEM (not very good one) but fail to import into the workbench mesh.

I have seen other's mesh, see the fourth pic, and I really want to get a comparable mesh myself. I've attached pictures of my current blocking and mesh. I'm sure that this is an easy task but I just can't figure it out.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I may find a way to figure it out. Instead of generate a mesh on the one-quarter geometry, one-half is much more easier! Attached is my blocking.

However, I still have no clue on how to mesh the one-quarter geo.

Suggestions and comments are more than welcome.

However, when I try to export to workbench, it shows error and ICEM window prompt out again. Any ideals?

Hi, I have uploaded my geometry and mesh files. I really need your help to figure out why such mesh cannot import into the ANSYS static structure. Thanks.
