i want to mesh one fourth of flow around a 3D disk which subjected perpendicular (for Cavitation). but i don't know how to block in DM.
when i use slice option the wall of disk divide to many faces and ansys produce contact region also in fluent wall B.C divide to many wall condition. can anyone help me to do that in ansys meshing or icem? |

hi thank you for reply
i made it with icem fluent complain about high aspect ratio(max 1000-2000). i want yplus to be around 30 near the disk. is there any way to decrease A.R but still have low yplus? |

Hi,
My work in ansys fluent is transient flow simulation for a flow over water turbine with k-omega SST model. I have applied curvature and body sizing for the domain during meshing in ANSYS. Along with that I have given inflation in the turbine blades so that it can capture the flow near blades. But when I do so my MAXIMUM ASPECT RATIO becomes 5608, average Aspect ratio 4.0. But solution is converging. I want to know whether this high maximum ASPECT RATIO is acceptable or NOT? Thank you in advance. |

hi
i think it depends on what solver you are using. but when high AR cells are far from high gradients region i think your mesh will work. there is topic that you can find your answer i think they said in 3D cases with AR up to 8000 fluent will work. but i am not sure it is better you find that topic and check it. |
