3D wing + wingtip meshing in ICEM
Hi everyone,
I need to create a structured mesh around a wing with a wingtip. I then plan to solve the flow with SUČ. I'm completely new to ICEM so I based my 3D blocking on the 2D blocking from this vid : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EknKVAJGEJ8. I have imported my geometry from CATIA and designed the farfield box in ICEM. I have then created a 3D blocking (and splitted some blocks) and associated as many vertices and edges to geometrical entites as I could. Then I associated the block faces to geometrical surfaces. However, when I compute the premesh, things go wrong. Moreover, some parts (like the wing) are not meshed. Another feature that sometimes fails is the split edge > automatic linear method to match the block edges to the airfoil curves. I have attached the project so you can see by yourslves. Can someone give some hints on how to create my mesh properly? Many thanks in advance, Adrien |
