Inflation layer near inlet
 

Hi all,
I have question about inflation layer. I created box with cylindrical cut for inlet. How can I deal with inflation layer near the cylindrical cut for inlet?

You can also create inflation layer at the inlet.

Since inlet is not a wall, it should not have an inflation by the way

There are a lot of tutorials available for meshing. Go to the Ansys portal and download them.

I read tutorials but unfortunatelly didnt find there what i am looking for.
i think only way how to solve this problem is to used inflation layers even at my inlet, but probably it is not totally correct, but will it has some bad influence on my model? I think it should not because inflation is just using finer mesh cells, am I right?

I am not sure, typically you shouldn't have inflation at the inlet.

Inflation cells are aligned with the wall. If you place them at the inlet, the flow will be going through the inflation cells in perpendicular rather than parallel which might have an adverse affect.

The only way to find out is try using both the ways.

Maybe you should post the picture of your full geometry. Also if i was use i would think of extending the inlet outside my actual geometry so the flow builds up before getting into the system. goodluck
