Meshing with cut cells

Hello everyone,
I m trying to mesh a compressor Assembly using cut cell method. The CAD geometry of a assembly is not clean and the assembly contains both solid and fluid part for conjugate heat transfer calculation. Proximity, proximity and curvature based assembly meshing it is giving me an error "out of memory" (my workstation is having high end configuration with 34 GB if RAM) when I tried with fixed sizing it generates mesh but the quality is very low. My question is is it better to go with cutcells method are better to use normal meshing method for these type of situations. If I have to use normal approach then what is the proper procedure for meshing assembly.
Thank you

post pictures of your geometry. Who can we know what it looks like?

cutcell is not a good idea if your geometry is complex. it is just an easy way out if you don't care about the accuracy of the results. Also if you are running out of memory obviously you are making a very fine mesh. start with a similar mesh with less cells and do mesh adaption if you need.

Don't just start with the finest mesh you can create.

You may start meshing without using advanced size function. Once you have a basic coarse mesh, you can introduce local sizing to refine mesh and enhance mesh quality at those complex regions.

Cutcell is not a bad meshing method but just like proximity and curvature method it MAY give you fine mesh at complex regions but at the same time very large mesh elements in non-complex regions. Again you will need local mesh controls to get a decent mesh out of cutcell method. I rarely use it.
