Hallo Guys,

I have simple query, if somebody could answer that, it would be great.

Actually I want to create a box in which a round pipe is attached and inlet of pipe should be possible to select on surface.

I want to create this geometry for jet flow simulation and keeping pipe inside box.

Please let me know, if some body has idea to do this.

Please have a look at geometry in figure that I want to create.

Thanks
Deependra

what do you mean keeping pipe inside box?

also you can just select different faces by clicking on them, so what exactly is your question?

Thanks hwet for your reply,

I want a pipe attached to box surface as u can see in figure. My problem is that if I use Add material operation I dont get imprinted face of pipe on box surface and if I use cut material then it cuts surface of imprinted pipe on box surface.

I want to do jet flow simulation, my jet is pipe and to define inlet, I want to have pipe of surface as imprinted on box surface.

I know it is simple problem but not really getting right operaton

Please let me know, if you can tell more about it.

Regards

i am guessing the pipe is going to be the jet inlet?

Then you can subtract the pipe form the geometry by using boolean.

since you are not simulating the jet itself from the inside you dont need to have a mesh there. the jet should simply start from the face you will get from the boolean operation.

Yes, but actually I do not want to select inner face of pipe as inlet because then jet would not be travelling from one face to another face. Due to this I will not be able to see effect of pipe length. As jet profile will depend also on after how much travelling, it expands.

Please let me know, if you can tell that how can I get common interface for box and pipe surface.

Thanks for your answers.
