Overlapping Bodies error
I am trying to mesh an assembly imported from solidworks within an enclosure generated in the design modeller. There was no interference in the assembly in solidworks. But after adding the enclosure and meshing it, the Ansys Meshing does not extract the meshed file and gives an error message as "The mesh file exporter does not support overlapping geometry in Contact Regions. Please resolve the issue and try again."
Do i have to run a boolean operation on the enclosure? or is it because of any other problem? Kindly point out what the cause might be and how i could solve this problem.  I have tried to see the problematic overlapping geometry but its not visible even in the wireframe mode. I dont have the option of overlapping body on mesh>show I have also checked the named selections, they are fine. |
try and delete all the "contact regions" in the list and see if that helps.
It could have created multiple contacts and hence the error. |
Thanks a lot!!! i checked the contacts in detail and found that Meshing had automatically named same connections twice and created a few unwanted connections. Guess the problem is solved! Cheers!!!

CFX simulation to turbine machinery
As shown in follow picture , I used CFX to simulate turbine machinery filed
You can see that the whole field is divided into three parts .The middle filed is set to rotation frame, rotation velocity is 3000 r/min ,and both sides is set to stationary frame. Boundary condition ,inlet : total pressure outlet:mass flow rate interface: frozen rotor wall: no slip wall The results show that the middle part has not influence on both sides . what's wrong with that? |
this is Ansys Meshing and geometry forum, please post your questions in CFX forum.
Plus dont post your question in any thread, search for your specific thread and post there! |
do not support overlapped named boundary
when i am modeling a helical coil and submerge it inside two different volume and then creating the naming was for coil and two volume. during mesh update, it gives error saying overlap mesh. this is due to helical coil sharing interface in two different name bodies.
is there any alternative solution in modelling only?? |
