ICEM "U" shaped pipe meshing

3 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,

I'm currently trying to mesh a "U" shaped pipe in ICEM. I have meshed initial tests using a straight pipe easily, but I am having issues with blocking at the bend sections of the pipe. I have gotten the blocking to look somewhat acceptable before, but then I could not apply the O-Grid. I have tried following a few ANSYS tutorials and the techniques used did not remedy the issue.

I have attached a picture of the straight pipe mesh, so you can get an idea of the mesh I am trying to achieve, and also an image, and file for the U pipe.

Any help appreciated,

Thanks

Extrude blocks and merge the vertices

Hi,

Extrude the blocks as shown in the fig. and merge the vertices of the extruded blocks with the vertices of the other block. Even merge the vertices of the related blocks after switching on the VORFN.

Regards,
Raghav
