How does "merge blocking" work?

When I open new blocking into a project that already has some exiting blocking, ICEM asks if I want to "merge blocking". If I select yes, then the new blocking loads in but my original blocking disappears. The part that contained the original blocking still remains but it does not contain any blocking; the part info lists it as empty. As far as I can tell, the blocks do not overlap so I'm not sure why this happens. Any insight would be appreciated!

I believe I have found the reason I could not see the original blocking. After selecting the option to merge the blocking files, I was asked to name the topology. After naming, I needed to then select the new blocking name under the "Topology" drop down menu. All the blocks are now shown.
