How to create solid cylinder with helical groove on its surface.

Hello friends, I am trying to create a helically grooved cylindrical geometry in workbench for modeling a mechanical tool. The tool/geometry looks exactly like the picture in the link below

http://solidworksoven.com/2015/07/ho...olidworks.html

It is possible to create this geometry in solidworks using helical sweep cut but I am not sure how to do it in Ansys. Could you all please guide me?

Thanks.

u can import your geometry from Solidworks to Ansys!

I do not have ansys and solid works installed on the same computer. Can I still import the geometry somehow?

Yes, Export the solid works file as ".x_t" (parasolid) on you local computer. Take it on a pendrive and transfer it to other computer with Ansys on it. Open workbench. Create geometry and import external geometry file and click Generate!

all this information you get from Help section as well!

I suggest you look for answers thr before coming to forum!
