Export meshed part in ICEM to ANSYS APDL

Hi everyone,

I've finished meshing a main part of the model in ANSYS ICEM and hope to export to ANSYS APDL to complete the rest of the work. I want to use ANSYS LS-DYNA to solve the problem.

I find exporting the meshed model to APDL rather difficult. If I try to get a .in file and choose to read input from this .in file, I'll find that though the elements and nodes are well displayed, the volume and faces cannot. If I cannot get the volume, I cannot go on modeling.

A warm-hearted person once helped me to mesh the main part of the model and sent to me a .cdb file. In this case, I'll need to import the .cdb file along with the .igs file. This time the faces of the model can be displayed and I can actually select the faces using the select method in ANSYS APDL, but I still cannot get a volume. ANSYS says that "Because of errors detected in data transfer, automatic keypoint merging has not been performed."

I'm totally confounded now. Could anyone give me a suggestion on how to export the mesh from ANSYS ICEM to APDL and meanwhile get the volume?
