Hello,
I have been searching for a way to reference geometry in a sketch inside DesignModeler. For example, say I have a vertex on a shape at an arbitrary point (aka, I don't know the exact coordinates) and I want a line in a sketch to start on that vertex. Normally I just define everything and use parameters to make points be in the same place, but I've gotten kind of fed up with spending 3 minutes on a task that takes me less than a second to do in all the other CAD software I deal with. Is there a way to do this? Making references to geometry seems like a pretty dumb thing to not have, but ANSYS have made more interesting decisions in the past, so it wouldn't surprise me. |

1. Create New Plane
2. Right click and Insert 'Sketch projection' 3. Select the feature which you want to use as reference in 'Sketch projection' and generate |
