assistance with Inflation layers

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all,

I am modeling a diffuser vane in a centrifugal diffuser with the aim of accurately predicting flow separation.

I have a single fluid domain (water) consisting of the diffuser vane (blade) which has been subtracted from the model via Boolean operator.

I want to create inflation layers around the blade and also on the surface of the shroud and hub.

Since this is a single fluid domain, I am having problems creating three inflation layers on the three surfaces. They seem to cancel out.

Please does any one know how I can create inflation layers around the diffuser blade and the top (shroud) and bottom surface (hub) of the fluid domain?

I have attached a birds eye view of the geometry to provide a better visualization of the problem.

since the problem is with the mesh, it will be more helpful if you posted pictures of your meshing setup, error and the mesh you get

I found out what the problem was. The solution just needed a section plane to reveal it.

Suggestion

Hello,

I know this is an old thread but could you tell me if you were successful in meshing the blade, shroud and hub with inflation layers without any errors in ANSYS MESHING?
