[ANSYS Meshing] Cyclic symmetry with external mesh

8gcynamonu New Member Natalia Koziol Join Date: Sep 2016 Posts: 6 Rep Power: 9	Good morning everyone I am preparing a model for thermal + structural analysis. It it a part of a cylinder, spread on angle 72 degrees. I have meshed it in HyperMesh and imported into Workbench. Now, I would like to apply a cyclic symmetry on it to see a behavior of the whole cylinder. However, symmetry option is above the meshing in a model tree so Ansys is creating mesh from the begging which destroys my previous work. My model is a complex assembly and the contact surfaces for cyclic symmetry are screws bolting parts together. Is there any option to say Ansys to re-mesh only these connectors and leave everything else as it is? Thank you in advance for any tips, Greetings, Natalia
