Hello,

I am working on building a tetra mesh for the human spine. When I mesh just the spine geometry, Tetra gives me a good quality fine mesh.

However, now I am required to mesh the spine geometry + the full body outer skin geometry. As you can imagine, if I use the same element size throughout the mesh, I run into problems. If I try to get a fine mesh, the number of elements becomes too large (~100,000,000) and the software crashes. If I run the mesher with autosizing, the mesh density is too coarse, leading to loss in mesh quality of the spine region.

I think the most efficient way to do this would be to define different mesh densities- A fine mesh at the spine region and a much coarser mesh for the skin region. Is there any way to do this using Tetra in ICEMCFD? It would be greatly appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction.

P.S. When I say 'skin geometry' I mean this has to be volume-meshed as a solid with its boundary representing the skin.

Thanks,
Vikram
