Discontinuous free surface due to different mesh sizes

I am simulating an open channel flow using VOF model. I divide fluid domain into different zones and I use different tet mesh sizes for each zone. When I plot the free surface it shows a gap at zone interfaces (see attached). The mesh sizes of these zones are 0.8m and 0.5m.
Are there any ways to plot the continuous free surface in this case? Thanks in advance! |

After that, when you open 2 zones, yous must choose "merge" |

I used Rhino to created the geometry and DesignModeller to slice it into different zones and applied different mesh sizes to each zone, so it should be continuous.
What do you mean by "merge 2 zones"? |

Can you tell me where the "merge function" is? In Fluent - Mesh Interface - I used "matching" for mesh interface, is this the one you're talking about?

You can find the solution by merging them.! |

Please, upload picture of your geometry before generating mesh. I just want to make sure your geometry is continuous. After that, I can show you more

But if I merge two bodies, can I still apply two different mesh sizes for each?

Here is the part of geometry where I applied "slice" operation. If my geometry wasn't continuous, how fluid can flow from one zone to another?

This image should give a better visualization of zone interfaces.
