Convert Mesh 2D to 3D ( supercritical airfoil ) help

Hey guys,
i made a mesh over a supercritical airfoil 2D, i want to extend it in 3D but the problem is when i make the ( Block 2D ==> 3D) it extrudes the 2D block into 3D which is good but the mesh is not the same and random edges were created a mess which not supposed to happen every edge is relied to the extruded edge created in Z direction. Well my question is does anyone have the right steps to do it ( 3D with one cell in Z direction) T  hank you
