grinser92 is on a distinguished road
Hello
I am trying to mesh a volume around a 3D airfoil with unstructured tetra mesh. the boundary layer of the airfoil is surrounded with structured hexa mesh, wich was given to me and worked well in former simulations.

the volume starts at the outer layer of the boundary mesh.
I tried setting the global mesh parameters for all surfaces surrounding the volume and computing the tetra mesh with the octree mesher. But when i select the outer surface mesh of the boundary layer in "use existing mesh" i get the error: "canīt handle existing mesh stradles boundary" and the mesher stops and ICEM freeces completely.

The only solution iīve got right now is to ignore the hexa-mesh at first and merge nodes at the surface between the meshes afterwards. but this usually results in a lot of bad quality tetra next to the pyramid elements.

Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks a lot!!
