Updating ICEM during DOE leads to incompatibility with Fluent

Hi everybody,
I want to use the Response Surface tool in ANSYS Workbench. This is what my Workbench project looks like: The geometry, that I created with SpaceClaim, has one parameter in it that needs to be varied. This works pretty well. Updating the ICEM model works without errors, too. The problems begin with the setup in Fluent. There are zones, that can not be found and others that were not expected to be there. This leads to following error messages: I think the problem is caused by ICEM giving different names to the surfaces every time the geometry changes. The replay script that is used during the update should create parts by selecting surfaces, but can not find them. Furthermore there are new material points created while ICEM is updating. After this Fluent says the solution could not be updated and the procedure starts with the next design point just to fail again with the same errors. Is there a way to select the surfaces in ICEM while creating parts without using their names? Why are these new zones created while ICEM is updating? I hope somebody can help me resolve this problem. |

Hello Gottkanzler,
How did you import your mesh in fluent? Did you convert it to unstructured and then sent the mesh file to fluent? Because i am facing this problem, that ICEM is failing to update the mesh. Can you help me in this manner? |
