Baffle (zero thickness) wall

Hi,

How can I create a zero thickness wall in Design Modeler (ANSYS Geometry)? and how can I mesh it using ANSYS Meshing tool?

I can create a surface in DesignModeler but when I import it to Meshing tool, I cannot figure to mesh it properly as a zero thickness wall (or baffle).

Thank you

Any suggestion?

I can tell you about the ICEM CFD.

Thanks for your reply. I can do it in ICEM, but couldn't figure it in ANSYS Meshing.

Have you tried using shared topology in DM? The use of baffles is possible with SpaceClaim using following steps (from Ansys Portal), you can look for corresponding setup in DM.

1. Define your solid and surface elements.
2. Combine/Put these parts to one component.
3. Set the property "Share Topology" of your geometry which includes the baffles to "Merge".

The topic is old, but I post guidelines for DM and Meshing for those who still wondering:

1. Model your zero thickness walls as surface bodies that lie inside your fluid body.
2. Combine 'em via multibody part.

That's all. Ansys Meshing will respect 'em during mesh generation (works only with Tetrahedrons and MultiZone methods).

All relevant information is in documentation, search for "baffle meshing".
