Inlfation for automatic wall function
Dear CFD users,
I am using automatic wall function in the fluent instead of direct boundary layer resolving. As I have read on this forum, the direct boundary layer modelling requires at least 10 boundary layers. As I conclude, for automatic wall function it is sufficient to have one, that provides y+ = 30. The inflation tool for mesher allows to generate at least two boundary layers. As I guess, this is due to Growth Rate definition which for one layer remains undefined (division by 0). Since the wall properties are resolved within the first layer, I am curious if the second layer could be a source of numerical unstability (it has still high aspect ratio, but remains outside the laminar zone). The problem is related to tet mesh. I am using RSM Omega based. |
