Hello everbody,

First message on this forum, i hope it will help !

I’ve got some issues with export points in Turbogrid ; I can’t figure out how the software manages it.

What i’m currently trying to do is the simulation of a centrifugal pump using CFX. I drew the impeller with Creo, then imported the negative volume in .step file in Design Modeler. After some time I managed to generate a flowpath and the export points so the geometry can be imported in Turbogrid. Therefore there is a connection between Design Modeler and Turbogrid in my project.

When imported in Turbogrid, it appeared that the leading edge points were not well placed at all, especially the ones near the shroud. So, I repositioned them, and saved the new coordinates in a new .crv file, then worked a bit on the mesh and closed the file.

The problem is, when I restarted Turbogrid, it automatically took the old coordinates and recalculated the mesh with it. No matter what I do, for example going into the command editor and changing the file name, or saving the new coordinates on the original .crv file, or on a new .crv file, clicking on “apply”, Turbogrid ALWAYS comes back to the old coordinates when restarted, hence changing the geometry and the mesh. So, the simulations must be updated, which can take a long time.

The only way I found is to create a new independent Turbogrid and copying/pasting the .crv files from the one connected to Design Modeler. Is it the only way to do it, or is there a way to read the new coordinates when restarting Turbogrid (the one connected to Design Modeler) ?

Another question on a slightly different subject. As you can see on the picture, the inlet shape is weird semi-circle with very acute angles, which is, I believe, not ideal at all when meshing with hexa-elements like Turbogrid does. Is there a way to change that shape to a more rectangular one ?
