Transition between two hex sections with different cell density

Hi,

I am running high speed simulations over a large body in order to obtain aerodynamic parameters. Since the speeds are very high (several Mach numbers) and the body is large, I need a large fluid domain so to capture all aerodynamic effects. The mesh section around the body is very fine, but in order to save meshing and computational time I want the cell density to decrease further away from the body. The mesh around the body is tetra, but surrounding sections are hex.

I first tried meshing the different hex sections with just different body sizes. This, however, resulted in highly skewed elements. I then added a section of tetra mesh between each hex section for smoother transitions (see attached file). This looks fine to me, but I was wondering if adding such sections could affect the simulations in any negative way in terms of accuracy. Is there any other way to obtain what I want?

Thanks!
