Vertex to point

Hello friends,

Is there any way I can create a point from a vertex?

Hi Rohit,

when you have in the look in the context menu of Blocking>Vertices, you'll find "Show Vertex Info". You can select a vertex and get the xyz-coordinates of the current location (next to other infos). You could use these coordinates to create a new point.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Hey Sebastian,

Thanks for your quick reply. Is there a way to do this without manually checking the vertex data and entering it into the point creation. I mean is there an option where you select the vertex and click a button (or a series of commands) to make the point. The thing is I want to do this for more than 20 vertices, so doing it manually will be time-consuming.

You can define a point by just clicking on the screen. It will attach to what is present. Have you tried that? Or doesn't ICEM recognize the blockingstructure as something to click on and, as a result, your point ends up somewhere else?

Hi Rohit,

it would be possible to write a tcl script doing this task (semi-)automatically.

Best regards,
Sebastian
