Meshing of a braced wing

Hi,

I'm fairly new to ICEM and I'm struggling to create a mesh for a 3D Strut braced wing (see picture attached).

I'm just wanting some confirmation as to how others would start to go about this, and maybe a brief listing of the process steps if possible.

So far I have tried blocking the wing to mesh, as in videos such as;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5OE9WWmKqI&t=1352s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5C_gZJx_Lh8

I had managed to block the upper wing, however when I get to the strut/wing intersection I am unclear on how to generate blocks in these areas. This is mainly due to the parts which trail to the domain extents (see image) when splitting the block to associate further curves. I am unsure how to deal with these in the case of the intersecting geometry.

If you need anymore information, please ask!

Many thanks

Just realised pictures didn't post with the OP. I will try again here...

Why don't you try unstructured methods?

Hi Shereez,

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping to create a structured grid initially, however I think I will look at unstructured methods. Are there any recommended guides for doing so on such a geometry?
