Hi,

In Ansys workbench we can split face using tools, But Is it possible to split a body (volume)?

Thanks.

Yes, you can split a body. For example, put a Plane were you want to make the split and use Slice and use the Plane as the slicing method (remember that it cuts on the XY-plane).

But using slice creates two surfaces in body that are useful for putting interface between two zone. When the interface doesn't need in model, these two surface are problem for meshing process in Ansys meshing because there are two edge in slice and this is not good and there is not need to defining two zone in my work.

In fact, I need to something like (Face split) for creating blocks for generating structure mesh in Ansys meshing. Gambit software had done this work well.

I am grateful that guide me more in this case.

Thanks.

If you do not want the two faces, but you do want two bodies, then just put them both into a MultiBody Part and this will give you a node conformal mesh.

But I didn't understand your mean. Could you please explain more by using software options? Where is MultiBody?

In DesignModeler select all of the parts which you want to put into a MultiBody Part (they must be all of the same dimension e.g. 2-D, 3-D). Then just RMB and select MultiBody Part.

This is covered in the DesignModeler training material, which I suggest you read.

Can anyone please share a link to the DesignModeler training manual?

Thank you
